Vernon Davies played a professional football career for thirteen years from 2006 to 2019. After playing his college career, the San Francisco 49ers selected him as their sixth overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft. He played eight seasons from the 49ers until 2014, after which he was traded to Denver Broncos in November 2015.

After playing for a year, he joined the Washington Football Team (Redskins) under a one-year contract. Later, he extended his contract for three years with the Redskins and played until the 2019 NFL season. He announced his retirement on 2 February 2020 through a Fox NFL Skit prior to Super Bowl LIV.
