Daytime Emmy Awards 2023 Live Susan Lucci honored at 50th celebration as General Hospital domina
THE Daytime Emmy Awards this year did not disappoint, honoring stars and shows like no one's business.
All My Children star Susan Lucci was honored this year with the Lifetime Achievement Award for her 40-year run as Erica Kane on the ABC show.
"How lucky was I to be put in the hands of (creator) Agnes Nixon?" she said after being presented with the award.
"Agnes was the trailblazer. She was the visionary storyteller who gave me the part of a lifetime: The fabulously flawed Erica Kane."
The actress also thanked her son, Andreas Huber, and late husband, Helmut Huber, saying: "It means so much to me to have [Andreas] here with me.
"And you know what else? I feel your dad's presence here tonight with us, too. I thank my husband, Helmut Huber, because he has everything to do with my standing up here tonight, and receiving this incredible award."
Meanwhile, General Hospital won big, taking home six awards, including one for the late Sonya Eddy in her role as head nurse Epiphany Johnson, who died last December following a post-op infection.

The Kelly Clarkson ShowInternal drama on The Young and the Restless, part two
"He had a history of cutting legendary characters from his shows," Doug said.
"He made the claim that nobody has to know."
However, Doug said fans would certainly notice as not having Paul around would "raise a red flag."
He says he was also told not to worry given that he was "under his guarantee."
"I was contacted about coming back," he admitted.
"I had several Zoom meetings with Danielle [Unger, director of current at CBS]. She was delightful, engaging, forthcoming, honest — everything you’d want to see."
Internal drama on The Young and the Restless
Show alum Doug Davidson has blasted the show, claiming the reason he was cut was due to 'money' and later 'respect.'
Doug has spoken out about what went down behind his exit from The Young and the Restless and his character Paul Williams.
According to SoapHub, Doug said it was "so much easier to say goodbye" than he thought it would be when he left.
Doug said that Charles Pratt Jr. came on board following former executive producer Jill Farren Phelps and "made the decision" to let him go.
General Hospital upset, continued
Fans on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, weren't as accepting of the decision, and lashed out at the show online.
"There so many people that should have been let go from #GH," one person tweeted "Roger Howarth is absolutely not one of them."
Another agreed: "That was not smart. I don’t even watch and know it wasn’t smart."
While a third begged: "Please find a way to bring back Roger Howarth soon in a surprising way. He’s brilliant.
"It’s rare to play 3 distinct characters in the same show & be accepted as all of them. We’d believe him as a fourth! Don’t disappoint us!"
Others promised they'd never watch the soap again.
"Big mistake GH, you just let the best person go. #RogerHowarth was the only reason I still watched," one person screamed.
