Lauren Magiera is an American sportscaster best known as the first female sports anchor for WGN-TV. She has worked for numerous news networks such as WGN-TV, WAOW-TV, and NBC Alaska KTUU.

Early Life

Lauren Magiera was born on February 22, 1985, and raised by her parents in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois.

Her father Hank Magiera and her mother Nancy Magiera were the founding directors of a religious missionary group in Chicago, . Hank was also a professional softball player.

Lauren has three siblings; one brother, Nick Magiera, and two sisters, Stacey Magiera and Cassie Magiera.

Lauren Magiera attended Barrington High School in Illinois from 2001 to 2005. She competed in gymnastics breaking several records.

She completed her graduation with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Public Communications from the University of Alaska in 2009.

Career

During her last years of college, Lauren Magiera worked as a sports anchor for ABC Alaska News in Anchorage, Alaska. She worked for the news channel until September 2010 and then joined KTTU Channel 2 as a sports reporter. She worked for the network for nearly two years until March 2012.

In April 2012, Lauren started working as a sports director for WAOW-TV in Wausau. She worked there for three years until April 2015.

In August 2015, Lauren moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin, where she worked as an on-air personality for Green Bay Packers until March 2016.

Lauren has been working as an anchor at WGN-TV in Chicago, Illinois, since April 2016.

Lauren Magiera is a married woman. She has been married to a model with Ford Models Chicago, Stephen Canada. The news personality tied the knot with the model at Hyatt Lodge at McDonald's Campus in Morton Arboretum, on September 8, 2017, after years of dating.

The couple first met at their college and eventually started an affair. They got engaged secretly but later exchanged vows in a grand wedding ceremony.

The pair doesn't shy to document their relationship on social media sites. On September 12, 2017, Lauren posted a photo from their honeymoon trip to Rome on Instagram. They do not have a child.
