Prior to that, for ten years he served as the head coach of the nationally renowned Heritage Christian Academy in Cleveland, Texas.  He was an integral part of the Baylors' rise to national prominence.

He served as an assistant coach for the first 14 seasons before being promoted to associate head coach in 2017. Tang has helped Baylor to a 14-year streak of 18+ win seasons, a 334-146 record that includes a 26-10 postseason record and nine NCAA Tournament appearances.

Baylor has also reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament five times since 2010, with three of those appearances leading to the Elite Eight.

Tang graduated from Charter Oak State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in September 2007.

Jerome Tang has yet to sign the contract as the Kansas state coach but his salary is expected to be $5million. Though the details about his contracts and salary are yet to be announced assuming from the salary of Bruce weber, he is bound to earn $5million.

Bruce's salary in 2021 was $2,393,200. Tang's net worth is expected to skyrocket after he signed a contract with Kansas State in 2021. 

Tang who helped to turn Baylor into a national power, is on the verge of replacing Bruce Weber as the next men's basketball coach at K-State.

According to the source, K-State officials flew to Texas on Sunday to conduct formal interviews with Tang and begin negotiations on a contract. The coaching search is nearing its conclusion and should be completed soon, as per the reports.

K-State would love nothing more than to recreate what Scott Drew and his former lead lieutenant have accomplished on the hardwood for Baylor.

The program was in disarray when Drew entered Waco, Texas in 2003. He did, however, have Tang as an assistant by his side. They worked together to build the Bears into the powerhouse they are today.
